Pidley Car Fest
Published: 25 July 2021
The Pidley CarFest is taking place again this year and we would love to have people support the event as well as any type of vehicle being shown, as all modes of transportation are covered. Last year we had a small steam engine, tractor, military vehicles, classic cars, some motorbikes and a few original VW Camper Vans.
What better way for a couple of hours outside, social distancing rules followed, where you can see all the vehicles and also partake in some refreshments (Bar will be open!) including the infamous 18 hour slow smoked (over local apple wood) pulled pork, plus burgers and sausages from Johnsons of Oldhurst. The play park will be open too!
Kevin will be in charge of braai-ing (South African BBQ) and me and a few other ladies will be dishing up the food.
The date is: Sunday 25th July from 12-3pm, weather dependent.
If you want to show a vehicle all we ask is that you bring insurance documents and Driving Licence, because the fields have now been classed as part of the highway, just to make it more fun for the organisers! Disclaimers will be handed out on arrival.
If you want to display your vehicle you can start arriving from 11am, but it's not regimented and you can come for an hour if you like.
If you have any questions please either reply to me at this email address, or feel free to contact the organiser Mr Gil Boyd on enquiries@goodmanbentley.com
This year we also have Cambridge band Roll The Dice playing on the back of a trailer, just to liven things up a bit, as we know it's been a rubbish 18 months with lockdowns, minimal socialising and not many events taking place, so we are hoping to make this one a little bit more special! .
We do hope you can make it, and please spread the word... monies raised will be going to EMBRACE – Child victims of crime. Last year we gave them £400 which was absolutely amazing considering the past year of lockdowns and minimal incomes for Charities.
