NEW PHOTO COMPETITION LAUNCHED TO SHOWCASE THE BEAUTY OF HUNTINGDONSHIRE

Published: 07 October 2021

Huntingdonshire residents and visitors are being given the opportunity to participate in a brand-new photo competition, announced today. Part of the HDC led ‘What Will You Find In Huntingdonshire’ campaign, the new photo competition has been designed to celebrate the amazing spaces and places of Huntingdonshire and encourage residents and visitors to explore the local area.

For the next three weeks, Huntingdonshire District Council is asking people to snap and share their hidden gems, old favourites and new discoveries from across the district – with a chance to win Click It Local vouchers.

Photo entries submitted must be taken within Huntingdonshire, but can be of anything that captures the imagination. This might be a favourite place, landscape, building, activity or business, or simply an image that captures what it means to spend time in Huntingdonshire.

Entries should be submitted to welcomeback@huntingdonshire.gov.uk with the subject line “Capture What Captures You photo competition” in the subject line by midnight on 31st October 2021. Three winners will be chosen after the closing date with the winning entrant set to be awarded £100 worth of Click it Local vouchers. Second and third place entrants will also be announced; with Click it Local vouchers of £50 and £25 awarded. Competition terms and conditions do apply, which are available to view on the HDC website.

Executive Leader of the Council, Councillor Ryan Fuller, said: “The Capture What Captures You competition is a great opportunity to celebrate all that Huntingdonshire has to offer and explore the many beautiful sights we are so lucky to have on our door step.”

“We want residents and visitors to show us what stands out most to them – and we can’t wait to see photo entries from those who live in and visit the area.”

‘What Will You Find In Huntingdonshire’ is an HDC led visitor economy campaign designed to encourage residents and visitors to discover new places, spaces and activities across the district, with reassurance they can do so safely. The campaign is funded by the UK Government Welcome Back Fund, and activity runs across HDC’s digital channels and in a partnership with Star Radio.
